Imagine the Brevity

Imagine the brevity:

Worlds open and close

In a simple manner

Of time.

For me, it hurts

To think this present

Is just a siphon

Moving the future

Into the eternal past.

But does it have to

Move so?

Perhaps spirals,

Circles and loops

Crossing the ever-expanding

Desert of space,

Silent and cold.

Perhaps a reawakening,

A resurrection or a reincarnation

Would stop the hemorrhaging

Out of which I cannot

Imagine the levity.
